Contact and FAQ

Email Us

Contact us at clemsonwatersports@g.clemson.edu if you have any questions about the club or the ski team. Reach out with questions regarding dues, the boats, the equipment, or if you have any suggestions on how we can make the club even better!

Club Rules

Before joining the club, you must sign the Clemson Club Sport waivers. Make sure to get in contact with us if you have not attended a current school year’s interest session meeting and you plan on joining the club or if you have questions about signing the waivers.

Club Dues

Club membership can be purchased for the fall and spring semesters individually, or for the full school year. Full year dues are discounted versus paying for fall and spring separately. Dues cover use of the club boat and use of all watersports equipment, including life vests, wakeboards, skis, and wakesurfers. The only additional costs are splitting the cost of gas with other club members who go out at the same time. Each time you go out is usually just a few extra dollars for fuel.

Come check out our booth at Tiger Prowl or contact us at clemsonwatersports@g.clemson.edu if you are interested in joining!

Merchandise

We have a wide variety of merchandise available at our online store. All proceeds directly support our club and ski team operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the watersports club?

A student led organization that allows fellow Clemson students access to a boat and watersports equipment including waterskis, wakeboards, wakesurfboards, and more, in exchange for semester club dues.

2. What is the waterski team?

A student athletic organization that competes at the collegiate level in slalom, trick, and jump. Any skill level is accepted and semester dues are required for participation.

3. How often and how long are club slots?

Each club slot is 2 hours long with a maximum of 5 riders. Slots generally run Monday - Friday from sunrise to sunset. You will generally be able to sign up for 2 slots per week.

4. What kind of boats do we have?

For club use, we have a 2023 Mastercraft NXT20. For team use, we have a 2019 Malibu Response TXi.

5. What are club and team dues?

Club and team dues are determined each year based on budget needs. Each semester can be paid individually or a full year payment can be made at a discounted amount. More information on dues is available at our club interest sessions at the beginning of each semester.

6. What is included in the club dues?

Dues cover use of the boats and the equipment. The only extra charge will be splitting the cost of gas with the other riders of your club slot.

7. Can I get a refund on my dues?

There will be no refunds of dues unless an exceptional circumstance occurs which prevents all use of club equipment. The club is able to offer access to very expensive boats at affordable rates. Unfortunately, given the amount of use, issues do occur at random times, but these issues are not circumstances for refunds. The most common exceptional circumstance would be medically documented injuries preventing further club participation. If you have any questions or concerns, email us at clemsonwatersports@g.clemson.edu.

8. Where is the dock located?

The dock is located at Y-Beach in between the main beach area and Clemson Sailing.

9. Who is allowed to drive the boats?

We have a group of certified drivers who pull the club slots. If you are interested in becoming a certified driver, please let us know at an interest session meeting or by emailing us at clemsonwatersports@g.clemson.edu.

10. Can I try out the club before paying dues?

Yes. You must contact us to sign a waiver packet and pay a small fee that can be applied towards dues if you decide to join.

11. Can I bring friends on the boat?

No. Only paid members of the club who have signed the waivers are allowed on the boat.
